Wonderful to see that the erudite Lady Fancifull has chosen THE VISITORS as one of her Top 10 Books of 2014. Her blog is a marvellous mixture of books, music, film and other topics such as philosophy and psychology. She’s an extremely well-read lady and thus I’m particularly honoured to be on her list.
She has such lovely things to say about the book and also says in the comments below that I am her ‘author on a mission for’ of the year! Bless you, Lady Fancifull!
Here’s what she had to say about THE VISITORS:
’The Visitors Rebecca Mascull This might almost be my favourite of the year because it took me so by surprise. Nearly missed it as the dust-jacket makes it look a bit marshmallow. Anything but. Set mainly in Kent and South Africa, at the time of the Boer war, the central character is a wonderfully fierce deaf-blind girl, and how. I’m chomping at the bit for Mascull’s second book to come out in 2015. With this book, she joins the ranks of writers whom I find myself on literary crusade for. I was so impressed by Mascull that offered the chance to interview her by the publisher, I jumped.’
And here’s her original review for THE VISITORS:

and an interview she did with me, with some of the most interesting questions I’ve been asked so far:

Thank you, Lady Fancifull, and I look forward to reading more excellent reviews on your site in 2015. Merry Xmas!
